“Honey, let me feel those hot fingers of yours. You really tore those keys up. I thought the piano was going to catch on fire!”
With these remarks by a lady after my show one night, I was inspired to create this CD, comprised of many favorite ragtime pieces I love to play and perform. Nola, The Cascades, Dill Pickles, A Real Slow Drag (the lovely finale from Scott Joplin’s opera, Treemonisha), The Ragtime Dance, Dizzy Fingers, Kitten on the Keys and 12th Street Rag are all recorded especially for this disc, and they appear along with a selection of my best and favorites from other recordings. It has always been my intention to gather my three original river-themed compositions that make up A Ragtime Trilogy on the same recording…..and now they are here together.
